Why do I need a license to play music in my business?
Playing music in a commercial space is a "public performance" under copyright law, and consumer streaming accounts (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube) prohibit commercial use in their terms. Businesses normally solve this with blanket licenses from collecting societies — or by licensing directly from a rights holder, which is what this page offers.
Does this replace ASCAP / BMI / PRS licenses?
For our music, yes — because Healing Miracle Frequencies owns both the recordings and the compositions, this license grants you everything needed to play our catalog commercially, direct from the source. One honest caveat: if you also play other artists’ music in your space, that other music still needs its own coverage. Play our catalog exclusively and this license is all you need.
How does this relate to SoundExchange or streaming royalties?
They cover different things and don’t overlap. SoundExchange collects for non-interactive digital radio (like SiriusXM or Pandora); The MLC collects streaming mechanicals from services like Spotify. Neither licenses music played inside a business. This license covers exactly that gap — in-business playback — while our streaming royalties continue separately.
What exactly can I do with the license?
Play any track in our catalog as background or treatment music inside your licensed space(s) — from our web player, downloaded files, or any playback system. It does not cover redistribution, resale, sync into videos or apps (ask us about custom terms for those), or use beyond the licensed number of rooms.
