- The 7 chakra frequencies in the solfeggio mapping: 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852 and 963 Hz — root to crown
- Each chakra pairs a frequency with a color, a seed syllable (LAM–VAM–RAM–YAM–HAM–OM) and a life theme
- Two legitimate frequency systems exist: the solfeggio mapping (used by most healing music) and planetary-tone mapping
- Practice from lightest to deepest: pure tones (2–5 min) → chakra music (15+ min) → seed-syllable chanting
- Start at the root (396 Hz): the traditional teaching is that the energy column stabilizes from the bottom up
The Chakra Frequency Chart
Every tradition that works with the chakras agrees on the map: seven energy centers, root to crown, each with its own quality — and in sound healing, each with its own frequency. The chart below uses the most widely practiced mapping, which pairs the seven chakras with the solfeggio scale.
| Chakra | Location | Frequency | Color | Seed sound | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Root (Muladhara) | Base of spine | 396 Hz | Red | LAM | Safety, grounding |
| Sacral (Svadhisthana) | Below navel | 417 Hz | Orange | VAM | Creativity, flow |
| Solar Plexus (Manipura) | Upper abdomen | 528 Hz | Yellow | RAM | Confidence, will |
| Heart (Anahata) | Center of chest | 639 Hz | Green | YAM | Love, connection |
| Throat (Vishuddha) | Throat | 741 Hz | Blue | HAM | Truth, expression |
| Third Eye (Ajna) | Between eyebrows | 852 Hz | Indigo | OM (SHAM) | Intuition, insight |
| Crown (Sahasrara) | Top of head | 963 Hz | Violet / white | silence (OM) | Connection to source |

The Seven Chakras and Their Frequencies
Root Chakra — 396 Hz
The root governs your sense of safety: money, home, body, belonging. When it feels unsteady, everything above it wobbles too. 396 Hz — the solfeggio tone for releasing fear — is its classic pairing. Listen grounded: feet on the floor, breath low in the belly. Explore more in our frequency guides.
Sacral Chakra — 417 Hz
The sacral is the seat of creativity, pleasure and emotional flow. 417 Hz, the tone of clearing negativity and facilitating change, pairs with it — the frequency for un-sticking what has stalled.
Solar Plexus Chakra — 528 Hz
Your center of confidence and will. Its companion is 528 Hz — the famous miracle tone — associated with transformation and repair. When self-trust runs low, this is the pairing practitioners reach for.
Heart Chakra — 639 Hz
The bridge between the lower and upper chakras — the place where safety becomes love. 639 Hz is the solfeggio tone of relationships and reconnection, chanted and played to soften the chest after conflict or loss.
Throat Chakra — 741 Hz
Expression and truth-telling. 741 Hz is its tone — traditionally associated with cleansing and speaking clearly. Singers and speakers use it before performing; the rest of us before hard conversations.
Third Eye Chakra — 852 Hz
Intuition, imagery, inner seeing. 852 Hz — the tone of returning to spiritual order — is played for meditation and insight practice. It pairs beautifully with slow breath and closed eyes.
Crown Chakra — 963 Hz
The crown opens beyond the personal — the 963 Hz “God frequency” is its tone, associated with awakening and unity. Best kept for deep, unhurried sessions.
A note on the two chakra frequency systems
You may see other charts online with different numbers (194.18 Hz, 210.42 Hz and so on). Those come from a second, equally legitimate system that maps chakras to planetary orbital tones rather than the solfeggio scale. Neither is “wrong” — they are different traditions. The solfeggio mapping above is the one most healing music (including ours) is composed around, which is why we teach it first.
How to Use Chakra Frequencies
Three simple ways, from lightest to deepest:
1. Pure tones (2–5 minutes). Use our free solfeggio frequency generator — every chakra tone is one tap. Good for a quick reset on a single center.
2. Chakra music (15+ minutes). Full compositions tuned to these frequencies do what a bare tone cannot — hold your attention long enough for the body to settle. Press play on the playlist below.
3. Chanting (the deepest). Each chakra has a seed syllable (LAM, VAM, RAM…), and the great mantras work along the whole column — Om Namah Shivaya maps its five syllables to the five elements of the lower chakras, ending in ether at the throat.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the frequencies of the 7 chakras?
In the solfeggio mapping used by most healing music: Root 396 Hz, Sacral 417 Hz, Solar Plexus 528 Hz, Heart 639 Hz, Throat 741 Hz, Third Eye 852 Hz, Crown 963 Hz.
Which chakra frequency should I start with?
Start at the root — 396 Hz. The traditional teaching is that the column stabilizes from the bottom up: a grounded root makes every higher practice easier. If one center clearly calls to you, though, follow that.
How long should I listen to chakra frequencies?
Pure tones: 2–5 minutes per chakra. Music: 15–30 minutes, or a full 7-chakra journey of about an hour. Consistency beats duration — a short daily practice outworks an occasional marathon.
Can I listen to chakra frequencies while sleeping?
Yes — lower-chakra tones (396, 417 Hz) and gentle 432 Hz-tuned music make good sleep companions. Keep the volume low; the effect does not require loudness.
